Menu is exactly what you'd expect at an airport bar calling itself a bistro. Lovely tall 35 ft tall wrap around windows and 200 chairs.

Beer list is short but this is best bar that is open at 1pm on Sunday. Definitely no thought made about the unimaginative food or beer served, profit and middle of the road.

Serving stout in a cold bottle without a glass wasn't great. First waitress ignored my greeting as she stood next to me, that's when I wondered if she was overworked.

Wait staff, two of them for 200 chairs, no bar tender, did well to keep a smile on their faces as the customers kept arriving for the busy afternoon rash of departing flights.

The Prairie Bistro is as far as I know from what I could see in YWG to be the only post security sit down restaurant in the domestic/international side (non US side) of the airport.  I was early in so I was looking for a place to have a coffee and breakfast before flying home.  The place is open and spread out and has a lounge just opposite across the carpet that seemed open as well but for the life of me couldn't figure out why considering I can't imagine too many people would want liquor before 6 am.

Though I was given the menu that had both breakfast and other options I'm not sure if the entire menu was available or not but I only wanted breakfast.  I had the hearty breakfast which is basically 2 eggs, bacon or sausage or ham, tater tots and toast.  I had both bacon and sausage so one was a side and the coffee was 3 bucks.  For the breakfast, side and coffee together it was just almost 21 bucks pre tax and tip.

The wait staff seemed to be really busy as I wasn't able to get a refill until I was almost done eating.  The food was OK but really it's the most basic of breakfasts.  Bacon and eggs is hard to mess up.  For what it's worth the sourdough bread was good and so were the tater tots and they sure gave me a lot of them in a side bowl.  Still it's a bit expensive for breakfast but then again... airport, only sit down place.

It was a good breakfast but it wasn't cheap but being at an airport that's just the way it is I guess.

I've been here a couple times when it was called something else. But same boring menu and a little slow staff. BUT ITS THE ONLY sit down RESTURANT IN THE AIRPORT  other than fast food and Tim Horton's.
I ordered the BLT and it arrive quick and was piping hot - I will also say it was delishious!!! The garlic mayo - outstanding! Sourdough toasted a d hot, tomatoes fresh and so was the lettuce...all in all a good choice. The french fried were cooked to perfection  (golden delish & hot)
The menu selection is pretty standard: burgers, fish & chips, salad and the breakfast menu pretty small and they only serve breakfast until 10:30 - what a shame - travellers can always go for a good breakfast any time of day.
I will not walk by this place anymore the BLT rocks !!
They loose a star because the menu selection is so small

Skip this place if you're at the airport as there is nothing special here. Great place to come for a drink and hang out but the food is bland and overpriced. Service is alright but I'd expect a little more for airport prices.

Try the place attached where you can listen to live singing and someone playing the piano. Lots of seating which is nice if you're with a big group and various types of seating makes it cozy if you want to watch the planes come in.

Pass on this one unless you're sitting at the bar and only ordering drinks.

Airport food...not bad...a bit spendy ....service was decent ...I would bring your own food.  As a German Shorthair I find it acceptable compared to what my master feeds me every darn night
